yesterday i had off work which was incredibly strange (and ended up being a mistake made on the schedule) because i always work that day. jared and i went to this huge garage sale but before we got there we bought lemonade from this kid that had a stand. it was so adorable! he was really shy and i would have taken pictures but i felt like it might make him nervous. jared found speakers, a blue chair, some records and a few other things for really cheap! i bought a swatch for 25 cents! i love bargaining.

today we visited the wonderful farmer's market in dover!
after that we dropped off a donation to the humane society. they're starting up a new shelter so i put a box at work and a few people donated items. it was so fun to go shopping at the dollar store for the puppies and kitties! we got some free puppy chow (the human kind!) and entered into a raffle because we donated, which i thought was really nice.

saturday was spent with brit, heath and heather. jared had to work and that made me sad.
we sat around our make shift fire pit, listened to music and ate bbq chips. pretty american, right?
on friday night jared and joey successfully hosted their first every-friday-in-july-wes-anderson-movie-night! they showed bottle rocket and this week it'll be rushmore! trying to figure out what kind of snack to make for the evening.
i've joined some swaps on swap-bot. it's been far too long since i've had a nice flow of mail going in and out of my post box. for a long time, there was hardly ever a day without getting some sort of mail art/pen pal letter/swap. it's my fault though. the more i send, the more i get back.
currently listening to great lake swimmers and thinking about taking a nap. (i've been listening to them a lot lately..along with neko case) today i just feel kind of drained/blah/frumpy. a cup of tea and a nap can cure just about anything.
i'm working on some new sewing projects. i've found out that i really enjoy listening to neko case when i'm making stuff. she's like a creative, little muse that goes in through my ears and out through my hands. when i get my stuff all together and organized i'll put some things up on etsy. my mom is currently in the process of getting approved to be a vendor at the tuscarawas farmer's market. i'm really excited about it. i'm so happy that such a great thing is happening in this area. i'm hoping to sell some things if she gets a booth.

working on a new issue of stab heart! it's been so long. i like this stage of making a zine. when everything is messy but coming together.
currently
* avoiding going to sleep even though i need to be up in four hours.
* so incredibly thirsty due to eating pizza for dinner.
* excited that jared and i both have off work tomorrow. all day date?
* hoping that lots of productive things (ie; split zines) continue happening.

the other day i saw a preview for this show, dance your ass off. i guess i don't have a reason to be against the show but the girl saying, "i might just get a boyfriend" made me mad. oh, i forgot that fat girls can't get boyfriends!
i can't wait for fringe to start up again in september. after i finished the first season a few weeks ago, i downloaded true blood. and yes, i got totally hooked on it surprisingly. i haven't seen any of the new season because we don't have HBO. i feel like i'm completely consumed by television.
oh, vampires.
pushing daisies has also been waiting patiently on my desktop.

today jared and i went to columbus to take brit to the airport. she's going to be gone for a whole week and it's going to be weird not seeing her for that long. we have skype dates planned though. anyways! since we were in columbus anyways, i thought that we definitely needed to go see julia (hello_octopus) at the shop she runs with her mom. first of all, their shop is completely amazing and has pretty much everything that i love. i would buy a million things there if i had money. julia and i have been friends/pen pals for awhile now and i'm so happy that we got to hang out with her today. we bummed around the store, walked around westerville, (which is so nice, by the way) ate free ice cream (birthday cake even! my favorite!) and i fell in love with her dog, henry. he's quite the ladies man!

yesterday brit and i hid out from the tornadoes and made beads using this recipe from Craft. today we're going letterboxing!. i've been wanting to do this for years but i just assumed that this area didn't have any boxes but i was wrong! they're about 30-40 minutes away.

our garden is growing! the radishes are ahead of the game.
the lettuce and spinach is coming up nicely too! excited to eat a big salad.
the fact that i can go out and pick vegetables and just eat them is like magic to me.

have i told you that i've become a bit obsessed with watching fringe lately? pushing daisies stopped working for me online, for some reason, so i moved onto this show which i've wanted to watch since marcie told me it's a little bit like x-files. (i've loved x-files since i was 12..and also had a huge crush on david duchovny for years, hah!) anyways, i like the show a lot and tickles my sci-fi fancy.

+ it's raining like crazy. i have the windows open and am enjoying the sound of it, as typical as that may sound.
+ we arrived home from florida last night. i'll update later with pictures and such things.
+ excited to read the new issue of bust that was waiting for me when i got home.
+ writing in the first page of my new (paper) journal this evening. i've been keeping one since the end of january. it took me forever to pick one out because i'm incredibly indecisive. i chose this one because it was under $12 and it's CATS AND STICKERS, HELLO. how couldn't i love it? i like keeping a paper journal for documentary purposes.
+ tomorrow it's back to work and while it's a bummer, i miss my coworkers and i need money! (and i'm closing with brit and that is always a good thing.)
+ excited about this summer. camping in our GIANT tent, hopefully setting up the pool.
+ sometimes i don't understand why i try to do 10 different things online at once. boxes everywhere, a million tabs open. hmm..
